Craig's
Safety Tips...it needs to be said, especially on
MV!
The
Golden Rule #1: Follow the rules of the road.
Always wear
a helmet. Helmets
protect against head injury.
Ride with traffic. Riding against traffic
is very dangerous!
Don't weave between parked cars.
Scan the road behind. Use of a rear-view
mirror is best.
Keep both hands ready to brake.
Dress appropriately. Bright colors, tight-fitting
clothes.
Use hand signals when turning. Look both
ways.
Walk your bike when crossing the street.
Make eye contact with drivers.
Use lights at night. See and be seen.
Keep your bike in good repair, and buy quality
gear.
Ride
single file. Allow
cars sufficient berth to pass safely.
Keep right. As far right as possible.
Do not ride double, except on tandem bikes.
Bike consciously. Be sober, attentive. Never
wear headphones.
Finally: Mopeds on MV are
hazardous! Biking is safer!
